Jack Henry and Google Cloud announced an expanded collaboration in early 2026 to build AI-driven cybersecurity tools tailored to the compliance requirements of approximately 7,400 US community banks and credit unions. The partnership combines Jack Henry’s embedded position in community banking core systems with Google Cloud’s security AI capabilities to deliver threat detection that smaller institutions could not build independently.
The initiative addresses a growing vulnerability in the financial system. Community banks face the same cybersecurity threats as money-center institutions but lack the budget for dedicated security operations centers or custom AI models. Jack Henry’s platform approach distributes the cost of advanced threat detection across its entire client base, creating economies of scale that individual institutions cannot achieve alone.
Separately, Jack Henry signed Woodforest National Bank as its largest new core processing client by account count. Woodforest, a Texas-based community bank with over 9 billion dollars in assets and more than 740 branches across 17 states, selected Jack Henry’s platform for its next phase of digital transformation. The signing demonstrates that Jack Henry can compete for larger community bank mandates beyond its traditional base of sub-billion-dollar institutions.
The combination of AI-powered security infrastructure and continued core processing wins positions Jack Henry as the technology consolidation point for community banking at a moment when smaller institutions face pressure to modernize or merge.
