Financial institutions are moving past experimenting with AI for back-office efficiency and into deploying it for decisions where errors cost millions. Taktile’s $110 million Series C, announced June 24, 2026, is a direct signal of where enterprise demand is concentrating.
The round was led by Goldman Sachs Alternatives with participation from Tiger Global, Index Ventures, Balderton Capital, and Y Combinator, bringing total capital raised to $184 million. Taktile’s platform, which it describes as an agentic decision platform, enables financial institutions to deploy autonomous AI agents for underwriting, fraud prevention, AML operations, and claims processing while maintaining governance controls and human oversight where required. Customers include Mercury, Monzo, Faire, and Pleo. One major global insurer using the platform projects more than $90 million in cost efficiencies from claims processing automation alone. The platform has achieved 95% automation rates in business loan underwriting for some customers and reduced AML false positives by 75%.
The insight here is about where the compliance ceiling sits. General-purpose AI tools from major labs can automate many workflows, but regulated financial decisions require auditability, explainability, and the ability to demonstrate consistent application of policy to regulators. Taktile’s position, building a layer specifically for high-stakes regulated decisions, addresses the gap between what foundation models can do and what banks and insurers can actually deploy without triggering regulatory scrutiny. Goldman Sachs Alternatives backing Taktile is also a signal that a major financial institution sees sector-specific AI decision infrastructure as a category worth owning, not just a vendor relationship. FinTech leaders evaluating AI deployment in credit, compliance, or risk functions should assess whether their current tooling provides the governance layer that a regulated environment requires.
